Dear all,
A heartfelt thank you for the trust you have placed in me for this new mandate.
For those of you who are newer members, the Centre de recherche en reproduction, développement et santé intergénérationnelle (CRDSI, formerly CRBR) is a recognized research center at Université Laval, now celebrating its 30th anniversary. Thanks to the dedication of our pioneers—including Raymond Lambert, Marc-André Sirard, Michel Fortier, François Potier, Robert Sullivan, and Janice Bailey*—CRDSI has made significant contributions to advancing fundamental knowledge in reproductive biology. Under the successive leadership of Michel Fortier, Marc-André Sirard, Pierre Leclerc, Robert Viger, and Claude Robert*, the center has evolved and innovated, addressing new scientific and societal challenges in the field while integrating ethical considerations into its programming.
Beyond its role in fostering collaborations among its members, CRDSI has trained hundreds of students, research professionals, and postdoctoral fellows—a group I was proud to be part of just a few years ago. Today, our mission is increasingly focused on knowledge mobilization, including its translation into human health and animal production.
I am deeply honored to take on the leadership of this recognized center, with the ambition of continuing its commitment to scientific excellence, collegiality, and the strong sense of belonging that defines it. This center belongs to all of you—I encourage you to engage fully, share your ideas, and contribute to its ongoing vitality!
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Marc-André Sirard for his leadership as a founding member and former director of CRDSI, as well as for his mentorship and guidance during our co-direction of the Center.
I also want to thank Jacques J. Tremblay for stepping in as interim director during my absence for my Year of Study and Research, and Dina Irsenco, our new CRDSI coordinator. In just a few weeks, Dina has become an invaluable resource, and we greatly appreciate her energy and proactivity.
Clémence
